How many of you are using the FaceBook Messanger? For those of you who are using it have you had any success with it?

@John, that is a great idea to have separate Facebook pages for events! And you also bring up a great point with being prepared. There is nothing worse than getting a lot of engagement from potential customers to then not being able to respond to their interest. Do the sales consultants assist with answering the messages?

@Patrick, do your sales consultants engage with the messaging? Or does you have a BDC that handles it?

@Mallory, this is very true - there is nothing more frustrating than asking questions to either have them ignored or not engaging with the customer after they have asked a question. Dealers often worry about soliciting "too much information," but with the information being readily available it does not make much sense. Bottom line, we have to answer the customer's questions with the intentions of securing an appointment for them to visit the dealership.

We have a couple of folks (not bdc) managing these conversations. I wouldn’t say “it works” or anything like that. It just makes it an easy option for people to get in touch with us.

@Chris, there is something to be said for their having a higher show rate, I also believe that the Facebook messaging tool has a much richer multimedia experience than of website chat or traditional SMS texting.
